A reason to why impressing everyone may turn your life into a Misery
Relationships thrive on mutual effort and understanding. Can any bond truly survive on one-sided love or sacrifice? I don’t think so. Parents who set aside their own desires for the happiness of their children naturally hope for love and respect in return. Similarly, lovers long for their affection to be reciprocated. And then, there are relationships where communication fades, the warmth slowly diminishes, and eventually, they fall apart.
So, how can we keep our relationships strong and fulfilling? The answer lies in consistent effort. But before that, there must be love and respect from both sides—because without them, no effort can truly last. As I mentioned earlier, relationships are about give and take. If one keeps giving endlessly without receiving anything in return, those efforts will eventually weaken, leaving behind nothing but emptiness.
Honestly, I believe a little emptiness is fine—it’s sometimes the right way to live. Staying with someone who never values your efforts is like holding a burning coal in your bare hands: the tighter you hold on, the more it hurts. Everything has its limit—there’s a limit to how much effort you can put in, a limit to how many times your self-respect can be compromised, and even a limit to unconditional love.
Even friendship requires effort from both sides, so how can we expect a relationship to survive on the effort of just one person? Holding on to such one-sided bonds is dangerous—they hollow you out from within. Remember, unrealistic expectations can damage you mentally and emotionally. So, choose to be with people who truly care, who value your presence, who respect you, and who accept you for who you are.
Lastly, you don’t need to win over everyone or build random connections. What truly matters is having a few genuine relationships that bring peace and happiness. So, don’t keep holding onto that burning coal—sometimes, letting go is the only way to make space for healing and comfort.
